My St. Patrick's Special

Today is 17 March, one of the most important days in Ireland. Saint Patrick's Day! I thought I could cook something special. My friend was telling me about a sauce she cooked a couple of weeks ago and I said, I could make it on St. Paddy's day, and then another friend told me I could make something with colours of Irish flag and then an idea struck my mind. I went for mashed potatoes with carrots, creamy spinach sauce with garlic and baked fresh cod fish. I think it looks pretty irish and I will cook it every year :)

Homemade Sushi

I didn't really succeed in making sushi the first time, because I didn't have sushi rice, rice vinegar, seaweed, bamboo mat and I just wanted to try to make it so much, that I didn't even care. But when I realized that those items were very important, it was too late. I've helped making sushi afterwards ,a couple of times. And last week I decided to make it myself again, with all the important things I needed, and I did it. It was fun and I loved making it! I found the recipe here

Carrot Muffins with Lime Frosting

When my friends called me last year, that they would come to visit me, I wanted to bake something for them. But because they had called me an hour before they came, there was no time to waste so I had to use what I had at home. I was suppose to use fruit and other sfuff, but I didn't have it so I grated a few carrots, added some pumpkin seeds, walnuts and grated coconut. It came out as a nice and fluffy cake. When my friend Dominika turned 22 last wednesday, I had an idea that I could make "birthday muffins" for her. I also decided to make nice frosting. So I made one with lime, cream cheese and icing sugar. And this is the result :)

Cumin and Onion Bread

Well, as I said, I will bake bread at least twice a month. And so I did. I was invited to my friend's new apartment for dinner and I knew she would cook a lot, but I also knew she likes bread as much as I do, so I offered her that I would bake bread to have something to nibble on while we waited for our dinner to be ready. I also prepared creamy garlic spread which was a delicious combination with both Cumin and Onion bread. PS: don't eat garlic spread if you are going out the same day.
